This accessibility statement applies to WebEDI.
This website is run by the NHS Business Services Authority. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- listen to most of the website using NVDA screen reader
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Technical information about this website's accessibility
NHS Business Services Authority is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
The NHSBSA logo does not have alternative text. Without alternative text, the content of an image will not be available to screen reader users or when the image is unavailable. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content) and (1.4.5 Images of Text).
There are no defined skip links within WebEDI pages. This fails the WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.1 (Bypass Blocks).
The language is not identified on most pages. Identifying the language of the page allows screen readers to read the content in the appropriate language. It also facilitates automatic translation of content. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 3.1.1 (Language of Page).
Error messages are not announced when using a screen reader. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.1 (Keyboard Accessible) and 3.3.1 (Error Identification).
Some pages have low contrast between foreground and background colours. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast).
Some form labels are present, but do not contain any content. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content), 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships), 2.4.6 (Headings and Labels) and 3.3.2 (Labels or Instructions).
Some pages contain an image with alternative text resulting in an empty link. This fails WCAG 2.1 Success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content), 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context).
We plan to fix these issues when WebEDI is due to be replaced.
We cannot make changes to WebEDI in the meantime because of the age of the software that was used to develop it.

Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 16 September 2020. It was last reviewed on 30 September 2021.
This website was last tested on 16 September 2020. The test was carried out by NHS Dental Services Operations Team.
We tested all of the website screens to meet ‘AA’ WCAG 2.1 standards, using manual and automated tests.
We run each webpage through automated Wave and Lighthouse accessibility tools then manually test with a screen reader (NVDA) and standards checklists.
These checklists contain standards that have been compiled using WCAG, NHS service manual and GDS guidance.
